Insider trading is both a tort and a crime, and many investigations have been carried out,
which resulted in adjudication as a tort by SEBI, with even instances of penalty not being
charged.

This book presents a summary of about 150 decisions by Whole-time Members, Adjudicating Officers (AO) and decisions of SAT on appeals, indexing them on a subject-
wise basis, highlighting the ratio of the decision, with cases relied in arriving at such decision.

It gives an insight to compliance officers, KMP’s, promoters, independent directors,
students and practitioners a ready referencer of the decision to enable them to
understand the precedents from SEBI.

The book is divided into seven parts that are often encountered viz: Disclosures, Trading
by insider, Unpublished Price Sensitive Information, Responsibility of implementation of
Code of Conduct, Contra Trading, Death & Dissolution, and Miscellaneous.
